About Interlibrary Loan

Need a book or article we don't have? Don't fret! We can probably get it for you through our interlibrary loan system.

Interlibrary Loan Explained

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a free borrowing service that helps TSU students, faculty and staff access journal articles, books, and other materials that are not available in the TSU Libraries. Libraries across the United States and internationally share items in their collections with other libraries. We use this shared system to help you locate print and electronic materials.

When should I submit an Interlibrary Loan request?

Interlibrary loan is useful for requesting items (e.g., articles, dissertations) that the TSU libraries does not have. Before submitting a request please use the Periodicals search box to see if the journal, magazine, or newspaper in which the article was published is available in our online collections. Or put the article title in the online catalog (Search All Resources tab name) to see if it is available. There are various places to search but you may find that we have the book or a particular article in one of our online databases

Who can use Interlibrary Loan?

ILL is a free service for current TSU students, faculty, staff, and affiliated users.

What is Tipasa?

Tipasa is the formal name for the Interlibrary Loan system that we use to process requests. ILLiad is the name of the previous ILL system previously used but in August 2019 we upgraded to the cloud-based system known as Tipasa.
