Libraries

The Access Services Departments at the Brown-Daniel and Avon Williams libraries exist to ensure that members of the Tennessee State University community have fair and equitable access to their resources; specifically, in the policies and practices governing the transactions related to the lending of library materials to our patrons. Some library materials that are in Special Collections, Reference, or Reserves must be used in the library.

Check-Out Guidelines:

  • Patrons enrolled or employed at TSU must use a current TSU ID card to check out library materials.
  • Depending on your status, you are probably eligible to renew materials online (see bottom of page for full policies).
  • Patrons are responsible for all library materials checked out to their cards and should not loan them to anyone.
  • Patrons should report the loss of their TSU ID cards to campus police (615) 963-5171 immediately following the discovery of the loss.

* Access Services closes 15 minutes before the library closes; please allow extra time for checking out of materials.

Media Center

Media materials at the Media Center are available for use by faculty, staff and students. Media may be borrowed by faculty or staff for three (3) days and renewed once by telephone or in person for an additional three (3) days. Students may view any media in the Media Center but borrowing such materials is not permitted. Faculty recommendations for additions to the media collection may be submitted to the Media Center Coordinator.
