If you are looking for an item, and find that is not held by TSU, Interlibrary Loan (ILL) will attempt to find it from free lending libraries off-campus. TSU uses the software called Tipasa to process ILL requests.

Directions for Logging into your ILL Account to Request Items:

  • Go to the TSU Library Home Page: www.tnstate.edu/library
  • Click on the Interlibrary Loan link
  • Select your campus location. Then, select your user status
  • Login with your TSU username and password
  • Click Create Request button
  • Choose type of item requested (e. g. article, book chapter)
  • Fill out request form
  • Click Submit Request button. You will then see your personal page to view the status of items requested.

Delivery time: 1-14 days depending on item type (article/chapter scans, books).

Our Interlibrary Loan librarians are available to help you by email or phone:

Article Request Services

The Libraries provide graduate students and faculty access to articles that are non-subscribed journals via its link resolver.  Get It Now is service provided by the Copyright Clearance Center that supplies articles for a fee.

Please look for the "Full Text Finder" link attached to the article citations. Click on the link for Get It Now. Articles are usually sent by email within eight hours. Funds are limited for supporting this service, so please request articles that are absolutely needed. Fulltext Finder is available in Gale, EBSCO, Proquest, and Sage databases. It also available in JSTOR , PubMed, and Web of Science.

The ScienceDirect database provides an article request service that is funded by the library.

  • Click on the article title and when it opens to the abstract, go to the top of the screen and click on the "Order PDF" link
  • Fill out the "Order Article From ScienceDirect Form."
  • Be sure to include your student ID number.
  • Articles will only be sent to TSU email addresses.
  • The Electronic Resources Librarian fills requests twice daily, Monday-Friday
