Tuesday, September 9th, 2025, students attended the Welcome Day outreach event at Brown-Daniel Library. Festivities started at 10am and continued until 2pm. This year our volunteer vendors were representatives from: Hadley Park Branch Library and Bordeaux Branch Library, Music City Pet Partners, and the National Museum of African American Music. Students enjoyed interacting with the guests and learning about the new things they can try in and around campus. TSU Libraries partnered with Hadley Park Branch to gather survey information from the campus community to find out how we can best partner to give our campus community the services it needs.

Faculty and staff volunteered to talk to students about library services and give out goodie bags with sweet and salty treats. Librarians and library staff from Special Collections, Collection Management, Makerspace, and Research and Instruction were present to talk to students about library services and create a welcoming environment for new students. The therapy pets were a crowd favorite followed by the Virtual Reality headsets from Makerspace. Five very happy students won the raffle for care packages and gift cards to take home with them. We look forward to partnering with our volunteers for future events at Brown-Daniel Library.
