Department of Education
The United States Department of Education (DOED) is a Cabinet-level department of the United States government administered by the Secretary of Education. Its primary functions are to "establish policy for, administer and coordinate "the most federal education assistance, collect data on US schools, and enforce federal educational laws regarding privacy and civil rights."

National Center for Education Statistics
The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) collects, analyzes, and publishes statistics on education and public school district finance information in the United States. It also conducts international comparisons of education statistics and provides leadership in developing and promoting standardized terminology and definitions for collecting those statistics. 

National Library of Education
The National Library of Education is a library in the United States that serves as a primary resource center for educational information. The library provides collections and information services to the public, the education community, and other government agencies on current and historical education programs, activities, and publications of the U.S. Department of Education. 
Office for Civil Rights
The Office for Civil Rights (OCR) primarily focuses on enforcing civil rights laws prohibiting schools from discriminating based on race, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, or membership in patriotic youth organizations. It is responsible for ensuring compliance by schools that are public entities or recipients of federal education funds with several federal civil rights laws.

 

Office of Educational Technology
The Office of Educational Technology (OET) develops national educational technology policy, advocates for the transition from print-based to digital learning, and supports the president's and the Department of Education Secretary's academic priorities. OET is also the primary Department of Education office for outreach to the education technology developer community.

 

Office of Elementary and Secondary Education
The Office of Elementary and Secondary Education (OESE) is a division of the United States Department of Education. Its purpose is to promote academic excellence, enhance educational opportunities and equity for all of America's children and families, and improve the quality of teaching and learning by providing leadership, technical assistance, and financial things.

 

Office of Federal Student Aid
Federal Student Aid (FSA), an office of the U.S. Department of Education, is the largest provider of student financial aid in the United States. It provides student financial assistance through grants, loans, and work-study funds and is also responsible for developing, distributing, and processing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) forms.
Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services
The Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS) is a United States Department of Education program. Its mission is "to provide leadership to achieve full integration and participation in society of people with disabilities by ensuring equal opportunity and access to, and excellence in, education, employment and community living."
