Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at TSU

OER or Open Educational Resources, according to Unesco, are  "are learning, teaching and research materials in any format and medium that reside in the public domain or are under copyright that have been released under an open license, that permit no-cost access, re-use, re-purpose, adaptation and redistribution by others."  OA or Open Access resources, according to SPARC, are described by the following quotation: "Open Access is the free, immediate, online availability of research articles coupled with the rights to use these articles fully in the digital environment. Open Access ensures that anyone can access and use these results—to turn ideas into industries and breakthroughs into better lives." The biggest difference between OER and OA resources is that OER allows you to "reuse, repurpose, adapt, redistribute, and access" whatever resource you are looking at free of cost. There are no barriers when it comes to OER resources. OA allows you to use the resource fully free of charge with no barriers to its access, but it must remain as its author originally intended. There is some level of a barrier when accessing OA resources. You are not allowed to do as you please with these resources.

OER resources are the focus of this section.
