This position is responsible for the collection of university archives (yearbooks, commencement programs, student newspapers, etc.,) and making these paper resources available for worldwide research in digital format. The head of this department accepts collections from private donors, usually TSU Alumni, that have historical significance. These collections are organized and/or digitized for research. The librarian supervises two Library Assistant 3 positions and student assistants.
1. Liaison to at least two academic departments. Assists with building the book collections in those subject areas and suggests databases.
2.Updates the faculty on library services and initiatives
3. Available for research appoints to advise best strategies and resources.
4. Liaison to TSU Alumni Affairs Department
5.Liaison to TSU Public Relations Department
Archives & Special Collections - Specific Responsibilities
General Library Services Responsibilities
1. Represents the Library on African American History Conference Committee
2. Responsible for Library Exhibits pertaining TSU history
3. Serves on library and university committees
